Theinaugural meetingofExperts Committee of ShanxiDivision ofthe10th National College Digital Art&DesignAwards(NCDA) as well as the lecture on future designwasheld on March 26thinthe F609 conference room ofArtsCollege, Taiyuan University of Technology.More than 300 participants includingexperts from the organizing committeeof the National Competition and representatives of teachers and studentsfrom different colleges and universities in Shanxiattended the conference through Tencent conference system.At the same time,nearly 10,000 experts, scholars, teachers and students in the field of design education watched the live broadcast throughthe official channels ofTaiyuan University of Technology.
The meeting was held in two stages, respectively presided over byBaiXuguang,Party Secretary of the College of Art inTaiyuan University of TechnologyandProfessorZhao Hui, Dean of the College of Art inTaiyuan University of Technology, the Director of the Expert Committee and Organizing Committee of Shanxi Division.Other participants includedGuo Qingsheng, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of NCDA Competition,Guo Fei,Director of the organizing committeein Shanxi Division andDean oftheCollege of Innovation and EntrepreneurshipinTaiyuan University of Technology,Zhang Yong, Minister of PublicityDepartment of Party Committee of Taiyuan University of Technology,managementmembers of the College of Artand so on.
The College of innovation and entrepreneurship has kept offering strong support since we undertook this competition last year, which was the important basis and guarantee for the competition from the 9thto 10th.In the first stage, Guo Fei introduced the great importance the university attached to the innovative and entrepreneurial work and its unprecedented breakthrough.She fully affirmed the contributions of NCDA in promoting Shanxi students’ innovation and entrepreneurship and the roles in college students growth and accomplishment. Guo said that strong support would be given continuously, and hoped the College of Art would try their best to make this event successful and get abetterachievement.
Zhao Hui notified thepreparation of this event and read the list of Expert Committee, which marked the start of the NCDA competition in Shanxi division.Wang Jinping, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee and Dean of the College of Architecture inTaiyuan University of Technologyas well as Zhang Yiping, associate professor from the College of Fine Art in Shanxi Normal University made a statement respectively on behalf of the expert committee members. They expressed their determinationtoadvocate art style, to maintain academic honesty and to elect more outstanding works.Guo Qingshengunscrambled the competition track and system for all the participating teachers and students according to new features, new changes and new requirements in this event based on his considerable experience inthecompetition organization.
In the second stage of the meeting, 4 domestic top experts discussed the hottest topic like metaverse profoundly.Those four experts were ProfessorFan Kaixi, the former executive vice President ofShanghai Institute of Design, China Academy of Artand doctoral supervisor, ProfessorHan Ting,Vice Dean of the College of Design in Shanghai Jiaotong University and doctoral supervisor, ProfessorWang Jiansong, executive vice president ofTsinghua-qingdao Institute of Art and Science Innovationand doctoral supervisor, and ProfessorWang Guobin,director of Thematic Environmental Design Research Centerof Beijing University of Technology.The lecture provided unique views and novel insights based on the combination of arts and market with plenty of cases, so that students and teachers were able to perceive the charm of art design from various aspects of this discipline.What was discussed in this lecture also enlightened educational reforms for College of Arts in cultivating “new-engineering”compound design talents.
Students and teachers from different universities and colleges in Shanxi that participated online were impressed by such ahigh-level academic feast.They said what 4 experts conveyed was both theoretical and philosophicalwith distinct theme, strong argument and detailed cases.They all showed enthusiasmfor the competition and realized great progress though the competition, in the field of teaching, learning, training, using, practicing, innovating, producing.With more excellent performance, the bridge linking function of this competition was fully displayed.All the participants would faithfully practisethe concept --- to design for people and to cultivate future designers, which conformed to the requirements oftechnological progress and industrial upgrading and to realize mass entrepreneurship and innovation.
At 19:00 on March 31 , Engineering Shi Junfeng, the second prize winner ofTsinghua Triple Innovation Competitionin Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regionin 2021, andPresident of Beijing Photosynthesis Future Green Plant Technology Co., LTDwill give a special lecture titledNewOpportunities ofPlantCategory inCultural andCreativeField.
